They are made with fleece, usually anti-pill unless otherwise noted. I
prefer this material because it is easy to work with and can stand up
to lots of ferret play and continues looking new after several washes.
Other material may be used, such as 100% cotton. The item description
will specify what the toy is made of. They are stuffed with polyfil
fiber and noisemakers when you request it. The materials I use are all
new materials.

To conserve energy, I do not preshrink the fabric in hot water, so they
should be machine-washed in cold water when they get dirty. You can set
them on any dryer setting and not damage the fabric, but to strengthen
the lifespan of the toys, tumble dry on low.
Items with a wooden dowel wand should be washed by hand with care taken to keep the dowel from getting wet. Hang to dry.
If you normally use hot water in your wash, I can pre-shrink any cotton material I use for your custom bedding. Just let me know you want it to be pre-shrunk before you purchase.

When shipping to America and Canada, I use USPS First Class Mail or
Parcel Post. I use the PayPal shipping label which comes with delivery
confirmation (available for US only). I ship internationally, but most
countries are not represented at checkout, just email me before
purchase so I can calculate shipping and any extra services required.
International shipping does not have delivery confirmation. It is
usually twice the cost of the item purchased to ship with it. If you
would like confirmation to your international destination, email me,
and I will find out what shipping costs with the extra service and let
you know. Currently, the countries I ship to in my PayPal settings are
America, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom.
Q: What are the refund and exchange policies at Scrivener's Retreat?

For refunds due to damaged items, contact me as soon as possible upon
receipt of the item. If your pet destroys the toy I made within 30 days
of purchase, send me an email with photos, and I will see what can be
done, either as a refund or a replacement toy. Decisions will be made
on a case by case basis, but I will strive for the highest customer

A: Yes, Scrivener's Retreat toys are made in a room separated from ferrets. My office is upstairs where they aren't allowed to go, and I have also tested them for ADV and received negative results. For confirmation of the results, you may email me at scrivenersretreat@cox.net and ask for a copy of the statement to be emailed to you.
Q: Do I have to pay sales tax? A: If you are shipping to the state of Nevada, you will be charged 8.1% sales tax for Clark County at checkout. This charge is applied to your subtotal and not your shipping fee.
